About Me

I currently work at Databricks as a Software Engineer on the Compute Fabric team. I am based in the Bay Area.

On this team, I am helping build a multi-cloud, serverless Spark/SQL experience for customers.

Prior to that, I was at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign getting my undergrad degree in Computer Engineering.

My Interests

These days I find most of my project time is related to understanding more about OLTP SQL databases such as Calvin, Spanner, Cockroach and FoundationDB.

I am also attempting to build my own SQL database as a learning tool to better understand the design tradeoffs each DB is taking.

After getting into the wonderful world of espresso last year, I am also attempting to roast my own coffee beans. Tune back later for the trip report!

In the past I've also built my own bicycle and electric skateboard.

Some concepts are hard to put into words, especially to strangers. This may change if I improve at writing, or you get to know me personally.
